What better way to spend a sunny spring day then with beautiful friends and tulips? The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is definitely worth the one hour drive from Seattle. Christina, Christine, and I jumped in my car drove to Mount Vernon to catch a glimpse of the wonderful tulips. There are two farms you can visit (we visited Roozengaarde, the ‘bigger’ of the two). It wasn’t as big and grand as I thought it would be but nevertheless it was still spectacular! The sun was sunning, I had amazing company, the fields were super colorful, and well who am I kidding, I drove there for the PHOTO OPS!
The big fields with rows and rows of tulips only had 4 different colors (pink, purple, red, and orange) as far as I could tell. But the entrance/garden had all the varieties and there have a little make-shift make-shift coffee tent, store, and flower exhibit (which was picked through when we went). Go on a weekday to avoid traffic and crowds. Remember to stop and smell the… tulips.
