They just don’t get it. We get her. She gets us. Her soaring vocals and melodies are a beautiful cultural fabrication we can dream about. She’s got an attitude of “I don’t care what you think” but at the same time, she seems so down to earth. She loves the image of the damaged beauty queen… and I love her for it, beauty queen or not.
