I hate wearing sunscreen. I use to follow the common misconception that brown people just don't need it. Wrong, wrong, wrong! I read a statement from the Skin Cancer Foundation: "More than 90 percent of the visible skin changes associated with aging are caused by the sun's ultraviolet rays." AKA, wrinkles and dark spots. I finally wised up to the necessity of sunscreen to prevent wrinkles, dark spots, and also realized that wearing sunscreen was pivotal on my road to recovery from some acne scarring. That being said, I have oily and acne prone skin so applying sunscreen was always a bad dream. Until I found Clarins UV PLUS SPF 50.
Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution SPF 50 sunscreen is so sheer and lightweight that it's hard to believe it's sunscreen. It's brilliant. It’s not sticky, in fact, I apply it over my serum and moisturizer in the morning which helps my foundation to go on beautifully. Most importantly, it’s oil-free, meaning it never clogs my pores or breaks me out.
It has a light floral fragrance that dissipates quickly and living in the city, I love the fact that it is packed with antioxidants to protect against free radicals in addition to the sun. Clarins has spent a huge amount of time and money on researching how the combination of UV rays and pollution affect the skin to cause “hyperpigmentation and darkening of the complexion”. So, according to Clarins, UV radiation plus pollution equals premature aging. Which is why they created this SPF with anti-pollution properties.
It's not just for sunny days (cause let's be honest, living in Seattle there isn't much on most days)! I use UV PLUS year-round in my daily skincare routine; which seems to improve the overall quality of my skin.
Overall, I’m now totally obsessed with the Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution SPF 50 sunscreen … It’s a something that not only does what it’s supposed to do i.e. keep off the sun; it does a bunch of other useful stuff too.
I can’t wait for you guys to give it a try and let me know what you think!
