You know what they say about first impressions. The entryway is not only a functional space but also the first impression inside the home. I wanted to create a space where we could take off/put on our shoes, set our keys, and take a peek at our outfits before we step out the door (hello #selfies). It’s well-traveled, but honestly, we don’t spend much time there once inside.
I approached decorating our entryway with that in mind by using high-impact decorative accents. It's all about putting together furniture, decor, and rugs, and that creates wow factor right when you walk in the front door. Did you guys know there's a wide variety of styles and fashion of home decor and furniture available at The Home Depot?! That's where I found my entryway decor. You can actually "Shop By Room" and I have gotten a lot of decorating ideas as well.

I was actually debating between having a console table or a bench of our entryway. But I came to the conclusion that having a seat positioned prominently in our entryway will be more practical as we can sit down while putting on or taking off shoes.
This entryway bench made of sold wood is affordable and it is the perfect fit for our entryway! We have a section for our shoes but if your space is smaller, you can even add storage or shoe rack underneath it. I accessorized it with throw pillows and plants that showcase my personal style as a preview of the rest of our home.
A room without a rug is peanut butter without jelly! I had been searching high and low for a fun rug to make the entryway pop and fell in love with this tribal rug.
My favorite decor trick, no matter how small or dark, is to use mirrors to transform any room into an airy and bright space! Specifically, large round mirrors. It’s also never a bad idea to be able to check ourselves on the way out the door! Our mirror is HUGE (48"), as far as I'm concerned, bigger is better. I love this 48" round mirror and also this 36" one would also be perfect for above a console table.
The layout of our home consists of three stories, where the first floor is basically just a passing area. So I wanted to keep plants that were super easy to take care of and didn't require a lot of maintenance. I find the best deals for indoor plants at The Home Depot! This ZZ plant and snake plants are the EASIEST plants to care for. They don't need a lot of watering and can basically adapt to any environment. This golden pothos is also easy and very forgiving!
How does your entryway express your décor style?
