San Diego is serious vacation goals. The year-round temperatures in the seventies and almost always sunny days makes it hard to beat! I finally got to visit a couple weeks ago with my bestie for a quick 4-day trip and had so much fun exploring! I just wanted to share with you where I stayed.

Where to Stay in San Diego – Downtown

The Gaslamp’s newest hotel, Pendry San Diego, has opened to rave reviews and for good reasons! It is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Here’s why:

Location: The location was so perfectly central in Gaslamp Quarters. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. But also an uber ride away from my favorite little towns: Little Italy & North Park.

Design & Decor: The building is well designed and sophisticated. The aesthetics got us ‘Instagramming’ every corner we turned. The rooms were clean and lines were super soft!

Drinks & Eats: The hotel itself features six unique restaurants and bars! You can enjoy modern coastal food at Lionfish; breakfast/brunch at Provisional; light bites and drinks at The Pool House (pool parties too!); local craft beers at Nason’s Beer Hall; and even nightlife at Oxford Social Club!

We ate at Provisional Kitchen one morning and the service was impeccable! The decor was gorgeous (I was swooning over the teal couch and tile floors). The service and food were amazing. I recommend going after the crowd (around 1) for brunch.

Customer Service: The best part of the stay was the customer service! I was so impressed with their whole team from the moment we checked in, to the random time we got pho and asked for ‘pho bowls’ (and they delivered!), to how tentative the manager was.

The service was definitely a deal-sealer in that Pendry will by my #1 hotel for every trip I make to Downtown, San Diego. I highly recommend this place guys! Even if you live in San Diego, I would seriously consider having a staycation there.

Can’t wait to go back!
