Y’all – I love Trader Joe’s. They are known for their one-of-a-kind products, affordable prices, friendly staff, and legendary return policy. I go there weekly and grab some flowers and a cart full of gluten-free goodies. I am one of the many people who tries to eliminate gluten from my diet but my sister-in-law, Hali has Celiac Disease (gluten acts as a glue to help food keep its shape but are hard to digest for most). Since I have shared how I order a healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, you guys have been asking for more healthy posts like that, so I thought I would have her share her top Trader Joe's gluten-free items to buy this fall.

Note: that gluten-free doesn’t mean “healthy” because a lot of those items have added sugar and other replacement ingredients that are actually worse for you. Which is why this list is carefully curated with simple ingredients and as little added sugar.
PUMPKIN O'S Fall favorite for sure. Some people might count down to Christmas but, I'm one of those people that are on the lookout for the leaves changing colors and everything pumpkin. It's truly hard to find a good gluten free cereal with no added sugar so when I found this I knew I had to give it a try. Paired with Almond Breeze almond milk this is perfect to get your morning started.
GLUTEN FREE PUMPKIN PANCAKES You get the pumpkin flavor without all the added sugar. These are some of the best gluten-free pancakes as far as texture goes. They are so simple to make and the pumpkin flavor is not too overpowering. You could top these with a bit of honey or if you are feeling a sweet tooth coming on add some mini dark chocolate chips.
AUTUMNAL HARVEST ALFREDO SAUCE Cheese, although not the healthiest, is one of my favorite comfort foods. When I saw this at Trader Joe's I knew I had to try it! This sauce is so creamy with all the vibrant flavors of fall wrapped into it. To make your meal complete add some smoked ground sausage and for a low-carb, gluten-free option use spiralized zucchini.
ORGANIC BROWN SUGAR BBQ SAUCE BBQ sauce where the first ingredient is not sugar? Yup, this organic brown sugar BBQ sauce is so flavorful with hints of pineapple, orange, and ginger. With only 6 grams of sugar per serving! It adds a sweet-smoky flavor to your meal without all the sugars and calories.
HARVEST SPAGHETTI SQUASH SPIRALS One critical factor for dinner meals is ease. This frozen all in one dinner feels fall ready without being so heavy. They have taken out all the work of cooking and shredding the spaghetti squash. Delicious and veggie friendly this dish is packed with fall favorites such as butternut squash and pumpkin puree. A meatless meal option that is tasty is always a good find. Anyone else doing meatless Mondays?
SWEET PLANTAIN CHIP If you are looking for a good gluten-free crunchy snack, look no further. When you reach for the bag you’ll pull out a handful of crunchy chips that are subtlely sweet and virtually allergen-free. These are my favorite plantain chips because there are only two ingredients. Try them with salsa below or with the BBQ chicken dip (recipe below)!
FALL HARVEST SALSA Try the chips with this autumn salsa blend of fruits and veggies. I love making baked chicken and eating it with this salsa, quinoa, and stir-fry zucchinis.
RAW PUMPKIN SEEDS Packed with protein and fiber, you can enjoy raw pumpkin seeds on salads, in smoothies and homemade protein balls. If you want to bring out the flavor more just throw them in the oven with some raw almonds and cranberries. Roast at 325 degrees for about 15 min and enjoy and easy on the go snack!
3lbs organic chicken breast
1/2 yellow onion
1cup Trader Joes Organic Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce
½ cup sour cream
1 bundle of green onions
1tbsp avocado oil
Place ½ of the yellow onion diced into the Instapot with 1tbsp of avocado oil. Use the sauté setting to allow the onions to cook. Then place the 3lbs of frozen chicken breast and 1 cup of the BBQ sauce into the Instapot and place the setting on poultry. Don’t forget to make sure that your pot is sealed. The chicken mix will cook for about 12 minutes. Let the seal naturally release (about 10 min). Open the pot and shred the chicken. It will be a bit soupy from using the frozen chicken but keep the Instapot lid off and place it on sauté for about 10 more minutes. Once this has cooled down add the ½ cup of sour cream and the amount of diced green onions of your choice. Serve with Trader Joes Sweet Plantain Chips for a perfect snack during those football games. The sweetness of the BBQ with the salty plantain chips is a perfect game day pair. (gluten free, corn free, soy free) allergens: dairy
