I’ve been LOVING all of this summer weather, not to mention all of the beautiful flowers! I love all types of flowers, but last week, my friend Bre and I went to a nearby Peony flower farm! We wanted to pick flowers there but they only sold it by the pot. But I went to Pike Place and got so many flowers to add the perfect color pop to my home decor. In fact, I found the perfect area to put my peonies, on my spring-updated bar cart! That being said, I like to keep my flowers for as long as possible, so today I am sharing a step-by-step guide on how to make flowers last longer!
Dress (size up) // Sunglasses (ray-ban dupes!) // White Sneaks (tts, RSKOOLA2019GT' for $10 off any Koolabura shoes! ) // Woven Tote
Step 1: Fill a vase about two-thirds of the way full with lukewarm water.
Step 2: Add a packet of flower food or 2 tbs of sugar to the water and stir until everything is absorbed.
Step 3: Remove all lower leaves from flowers so there won't be any submerged in the water. (this will help keep the water fresh).
Step 4: Cut the stems at an angle while submerged in water. This allows for the stem to absorb more nutrients.
Step 5: Choose a cool location where the flowers don’t receive any direct sunlight or are around any cooling or heating vents. Air and sunlight cause them dry-out and die at a faster pace.
Step 6: Change the water every other day and re-cut the stems each time.
Step 7: Enjoy! Adding any types of flowers to your home decor is the perfect way to add a great color splash!
Hope you found these tips on how to make flowers last longer! By following these instructions you can add extra life to your bouquet! Flowers add so much color and warmth to your home decor, and now they can last longer too!
